I find that this approach works especially well when starting with a new organization. It can be applied to any department or function.

In my experience, some people are naturally inclined to learn new things and some are not. Its better to make everyone understand why continuous learning is important in life and how it can make personal and professional life better. For junior folks, one of the approach could be identify interest areas and then align similar type of leanings with objectives and goals.

Think of preparing to plant a garden. Before you start, you get to know your garden's soil, how much sun it gets, and what kind of weather it sees. It's a lot like getting ready to teach something new. You wouldn't just throw any plant in the ground without thinking, right? Similarly, you wouldn't teach the same way to everyone. You'd talk to people, maybe run some surveys or groups, to figure out who you're teaching: What do they already know? What do they want to learn? And how do they like to learn? Then, you'd sort out your garden— or your learners—into different sections. Some plants need more sun, some learners need more visuals. It's all about creating the perfect conditions so everyone can grow their best.

I agree with the concept of acknowledging the success of learning but feel it is the application and demonstration of that learning that gives individuals satisfaction. Using the sports analogy - an athlete that has learned a new skill sees the value of that skill once he/she has applied it and a positive outcome results. In my experience what I have learned is that there are different learning programs one needs to create. One which is generic and applicable to everyone in the eco system. One thing I have found helpful is to keep following pointers in mind : Is your learning content compelling and relevant? Is there a clear benefit and value to the learner? Is there a clear goal? Is the learner being challenged? Are the tasks authentic and credible? One must get a mentally challenging ecosystem to foster cognitive learning.

Beyond the traditional approaches, it’s important to create a culture of continuous learning where growth is celebrated at every stage. Sharing real-life examples and success stories from within your organization can provide learners with relatable inspiration. Additionally, consider incorporating mentorship or coaching programs where experienced team members guide others through their learning journey. Remember, the goal is not just to impart knowledge but to create an environment where learning becomes a core part of the organization’s DNA—something that is encouraged, supported, and constantly evolving.
