How do you deliver high-quality media products on deadline?

1. How does your client want your content delivered. 2. Use Zoom to record your meetings. This offers you the opportunity to review exactly how the client interacts with both you and your deliverables. 3. Be specific as to what you can deliver given the budgetary parameters. 4. Any overage should be paid for by the client, and this needs to be specified contractually. 5. Have the client give you examples of content that they really like. What they describe versus what they like can be completely different. Having a reference to work with can be very helpful.

What I believe is that the pre-production stage needs to be very sorted. There are three stages. Pre production, production which is the ongoing shooting process. And then comes post production. The client gives us a brief and a budget around which we can work. The kind of script gives us a clear idea of the budget way in advance. Payment from the client needs to come in advance to the production house/advertisement agency. This is to avoid client non payment issues. Also, to be able to deliver what is promised on time.

Having delivered multiple same day shoot and edits(also called live edits), here are the 3 main takeaways- 1. Pre-production is the key. Define the exact deliverables and based on that- everything from shot list, music with exact timestamps, and any complex visual element should be pre-rendered(think any text animation, lower thirds, 3D sequence, etc.) 2. Do not over-promise and under-deliver. It's very easy to get in the creative zone and test your limits but if the deadline is tight, it's smarter to stick to what you have already delivered on a similar deadline than try something really new. You can pitch it as an extra piece which can take the pressure off you. 3. Do a test run of the entire process to find any possible glitches.

To deliver high-quality media products on deadline, I prioritize planning, organization, and efficient teamwork. I start with a detailed project plan, breaking down tasks and deadlines.

Prioritize tasks! and a few key things to take into consideration: 1. The size of each task 2. The complexity or ease of each task 3. The resources required for each task 4. The relative importance of each task and its effect on the outcome of the project 5. The reliance of each task on other tasks

If we're talking about podcasting, choose your favorite software. It's okay if you prefer working with Adobe Audition or Pro Tools. Choose the software you have experience with and that makes you comfortable, improving the quality of your work. You can also use additional tools with the software, such as iZotope RX and similar ones.

1) Never procrastinate. If something is needed for next week, start it now. 2) if the content involves writing, learn how to type with your 10 fingers. 3) if the content involves illustrations, learn how to use Photoshop or Illustrator. 4) the same is true for other kinds of deliverables.

Most of my clients don't care about the tools I use. However - if they have someone else connected to the project, then I talk to them. Although.. If you go with the big names then you're usually covered :)

I use Adobe creative cloud for everything from audio mixing, video editing and motion graphic design. These may not the tools everyone uses but I know these tools. For any project use the tools you are familiar with, same goes for editing styles. We all want to use news to make our great but if we don't teach ourselves with rigorous discipline. You could potentially loss a client by creating media with a new style or tool that you entirely don't know how to use. Use what you know and learn on the side until you are comfortable for project use.

When creating on a deadline for a client, it’s also most practical to work with the softwares and tools you are familiar and versed with, rather than experimenting with new softwares or technologies on the fly. This way you’ll be able to effectively navigate the known bugs, software quirks, and user interfaces and still produce high quality work in a timely manner.

But you also need to be prepared for your process to fall apart due to client needs and changes. Having a plan keeps you in track but be prepared to damage control your project if you get new requirements during your process. This can be solved by communicating clearly with your clients on solutions and realistic new expectations.

Over time and with experience, work becomes faster. Understanding the workflow steps makes things easier, as long as you stick to them later. This doesn't contradict the idea of continuously developing and improving them. Here, I mean the workflow steps.

Solid advice.. Yes, but no plan or process ever survives a meeting with the real world. Experience in managing mistakes, change of heart or mind doesn't come from plans or processes - it comes from dealing with it over and over again. One of the most common things I hear from new videomakers is that they complain about what they bring home (especially in run-and-gun jobs). Well.. Tough luck.. You now have what you have, and you make the best of it. Next time, you know..

Also have a plan of attack and be flexible, don't say "oh let's just see what happens." No, plan everything you can down to the smallest detail. Know what your shooting, how it's being shot, what your talent is gonna do, and what your crew is gonna do. In the off chance something does happen to mess with your plan, you know were and how to change it so it doesn't set you back.

I usually follow a process of making the same tasks all at once and then moving to the next phase. When you have to deliver multiple pieces of content in a short time, processes are a must.

Keep clients and stakeholders engaged throughout the process. Their timely feedback can be crucial in making necessary adjustments and ensuring the final product meets or exceeds expectations.

My number one feedback rule. If the client doesn't like something, I'd rather have them tell me-right away-that it's not working. Also, before I begin working with a new creative, I make absolutely certain that they are familiar with what I do. If they aren't sold on me as a talent, and I'm simple referred to a project, the outcome is usually fraught. It's better that they become familiar with your work so they have a basic idea as to your range. Again, this is tricky, but it's an essential part of the client dialogue.

I'll give you a piece of advice: seeking others' opinions doesn't diminish your expertise. If you encounter a problem while working and want to inquire about it from the team, it doesn't mean you're not an expert; on the contrary, it shows that you care about every detail, even the small ones, for the success of the work.

The worst thing you come across is a client pointing out something wrong with the finished product. As creators, we fill with dread when that happens. It is always better to have someone take a look during the post production process. Like a fellow peer in the studio to help see if there is something you missed or something does flow. Two pairs of eyes are better than one.

Have one person with the eye for supervision and make it a rule to show to this person before everyonelse. This will reduce the changes you'll need to make later.

If we're talking about podcasting, everyone has their own way of reviewing and testing their work. Work on checking for errors in multiple ways, including deep checking while working on it and visually checking for mixing issues before delivering the file to the client. You might have another method, but the important thing is to ensure that your work is error-free in a way that makes you confident, at least for major errors.

I always test my video before delivery, because I do not like the uncomfortable silence of people waiting to see your product and getting upset every second that passes. It makes you look like an amateur and loses clients. Found out the format they want the video as what players can play it and where they are showcasing it for the public.

Be prepared to adapt plans and workflows in response to unexpected challenges or feedback. Flexibility can help overcome obstacles and ensure the project stays on track. Manage the workload and stress levels of your team effectively. Overworked personnel are more likely to make mistakes. Ensure that work is evenly distributed and provide support to team members as needed.

In my experience, when you are on a tight schedule, you should focus on the objectives first, prioritize, then execute. think about one or two wow factors and make sure you make it happen

Manage your time in a way that achieves the desired productivity without causing you stress. I strongly recommend working in the morning because it will make you feel like you have more time, especially if you work remotely or as a freelancer. It can be an advantage to work at any time, but starting in the morning will make time management much easier.

Something a lot of people tend to do during the beginning of any project is try to jam several ideas/concepts into it. Whether writing a story or producing a video or radio show, try to focus on your subject. A brief concise product that tells a good story in a minute or two is better than a long article/video that will lose people. Figure out what is relevant during the planning phase. This helps you manage your time better. Deadlines can be stressful but if everything is moving along at the pace you put it on, you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Working at night brings peaceful thoughts and pure concepts to projects. No phone, email and social media interuptions. Now it is 1 AM and I'm creating from the best part of me. Full of joy. The project will be on the client desk at 8 AM. As it will be made from inside I believe there will be no corrections at all, just selling results in the next step.

Deadlines are you're friends and your enemies. You need them to get any creative done, but they can also freak you out and lead to mistakes. I find that setting lots of small deadlines throughout the job helps me to not leave everything until the last minute. Also if you're working for a client, you should consider setting them feedback deadlines. Then still leave yourself a buffer for them to throw in extra feedback past the deadline!

It can be difficult to be creative on a deadline. Sometimes I have to dream in peace for the best ideas and outcomes to come to me. Processes are great and we are not machines in an assembly line. One way to shorten the process is to keep track of your ideas in a notebook or notes app. Then when a client wants brilliance on a deadline the ideas are there and ready to be adapted to suit the clients needs. You may even have options that make more sense based on time and resources available.

In my experience the standard always applies. Plan,prepare and then you can expect a good outcome. I do think the output products are waining. Some clients want a physical product. Not a flash drive or a streaming product.

To consistently have discipline in deadlines means you must be a disciplined person period. One must be able to force themselves to get up and get to work at a scheduled time, as well as to quit work so as not to burn out. Discipline does constitute a denial of pleasures or other purposes in life. There must be balance in one's life to enjoy its fullness. Deadlines can give you structure and other things must wait until your word and work are kept — barring an unexpected catastrophe. If you are religious, your "Yes" must truly mean "Yes," and your "No, No" when it comes to meeting deadlines (Matthew 5:37). Almighty God is the Creator of appointed times (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, Acts 17:26, 31). We can imitate His example of meeting deadlines.

Often times a deadline is a lie from the client and you have more 48 hours before the real deadline. So, keep in mind that you may have time to make some adjustments to the final product. But always have a good communication with the client. Great and sincere communication is always much more important than deadlines, because most of the deadlines are not real deadlines.
