How do you define success as a project leader?

first success criteria is to achieve the project target with complete scope in the right time,and within the allocated budget, and with the expected quality. details can vary from project to project but general guidelines are mentioned here.

Independientemente que debe cumplir el costo, tiempo y calidad, dentro de los parámetros establecidos en la declaración de alcance, el proyecto debe cumplir con las expectativas de los clientes externos y externos. In my opinion, success as a project leader is defined by achieving project goals within the defined scope, adhering to the allocated budget, and meeting or exceeding established timelines. Effectively managing scope ensures project deliverables align with stakeholder expectations, maintaining financial discipline within the budget reflects fiscal responsibility, and timely completion demonstrates organizational efficiency.

Striking a balance between quality and value enhances the overall success of a project leadership endeavor.

The success of a Project is a Team effort. And as Project Leader your main and most important responsibility is towards the Team. Give guidance, lead by example, support, coach, listen, encourage, teach, create opportunities, defend, praise and award each Team member and effort, each day, each opportunity, each accomplishment. Because your Team is responsible to deliver to and beyond the expectations, not the Project Lead. Be humble and allow other to shine….

In my opinion, success as a project leader means: 1. Meeting goals on time, budget, and scope. 2. Delivering high-quality results. 3. Ensuring stakeholder&customer satisfaction. 4. Maintaining clear communication. 5. Developing the team's skills. 6. Being adaptable to change/challenges 7. Learning from experiences for improvement.

As a project manager, success also involved the positive impact on people’s wellbeing and individual performance. A successful project could also be defined by the connections created between team members within the organization and create a prosper atmosphere where people can organize work and collaborate and mutualize their expertise to achieve the project's objectives. We are tending to assess the project's success through objectives oriented KPIs meanwhile the success should be measured through the opportunities afforded to team members to learn and develop their competencies including soft skills and leadership attitude. A team-oriented project will lead to innovative outcomes that could exceed the expected goals.

1. Fully understand your project targets from different point of views (internal, area, customer, othes stakeholders). 2. Keep your customer close to you 3. Choose good people to work in your team and spot the "pivotal" ones. Keep those engaged as much as possible. 4. Be aware to spot people of influence and learn how to connect with them. 5. Know what you want/need and stablish a strategy in your communications.

I define success as a project leader when there is a balance between project outcomes and stakeholder expectations. Success lies in anticipating and understanding the needs of each stakeholder, integrating their perspectives throughout each project phase. This requires constant communication, effective negotiation, and flexibility to address concerns without compromising key objectives. True success is reflected in stakeholder satisfaction, ensuring that the project's benefits align with their interests and create a positive long-term impact.

En tant que cheffe de projet, mon expérience m'a enseigne que l'identification précoce, la communication transparente, et la gestion proactive des attentes sont essentielles. établir une relation de confiance, intégrer les retours d'information réguliers et dépasser les attentes contribuent à assurer la satisfaction des parties prenantes, élément clé d'un projet réussi.

En este caso el Líder del proyecto habrá cumplido con éxito su rol en la gestión de Skateholder siempre y cuando considere lo siguiente: - Comunicación efectiva y fluida entre los interesados. - Mantenga el interés de todos los Skatholders durante el proyecto. - Agregue valor al desarrollo del proyecto en beneficio de los Skateholders. - Identifique a los skatholders internos y externos sin excepción - Realice la matriz de Poder / Interés (Matriz de Jhonson y Scholes) para que pueda realizar un análisis estratégico que le permita comprender la dinámica de sus skateholders en relación al proyecto.

It is not only important to consider the success and performance of the project members, but also the mood within the team. Did the members feel sufficiently challenged and not overwhelmed? Did they feel comfortable? How do they rate the communication within the team?

Considero que el PM es como un director de orquesta. En una orquesta filarmónica no están los aprendices, está gente que sabe lo que hace (puede que no con mucha experiencia, pero realmente sabe tocar). Así debe de funcionar el equipo de proyecto. Nos corresponde indicar cuando deben de entrar, cuando callar, pero ellos saben hacer su trabajo. Es sumamente importante estar atentos cuando alguno desafina, se atrasa o adelanta en su entrada, y hacer correcciones. Con los menos experimentados nos corresponde afinanar sus habilidades, o guiarlos para que ellos mismos lo hagan. La integración del equipo también es importante, durante un tiempo nos veremos más entre nosotros que a nuestra familia. La armonia y comunicación debe ser constante.

La croissance personnelle et la satisfaction du projet jouent un r?le essentiel dans le succès, souvent négligé. Considérer le bien-être de l'équipe comme crucial pour atteindre les objectifs m'appara?t fondamental. Des plans de formation et des avantages personnalisés me semblent être des outils efficaces pour favoriser le développement de l'équipe de projet. Bien que ce volet soit actuellement sous-estimé en comparaison des évaluations techniques, une prise de conscience progressive, notamment grace aux neurosciences et à la compréhension du cerveau droit, est en cours. J'espère qu'à l'avenir, davantage d'efforts seront déployés vers des plans de développement axés sur l'aspect émotionnel et le bien-être du personnel.

Un proyecto que un PM haya liderado se convierte en cierta forma en su hijo. Se planea, se inicia el proceso, se desarrolla, se supervisa y se entrega (me salté pasos, lo sé). Al final del proyecto, la recopilación de las lecciones aprendidas, junto con el aporte que haya hecho el PM es parte de la recompensa que nos llevamos, junto con la satisfacción de haber cumplido con el deber. Un proyecto, al igual que un hijo, nos va ense?ando cosas, asi como nosotros también aportamos experiencia y conocimiento. Eso es lo que nos hace crecer, y ser mejores para lo que venga adelante. Siempre habrá algo nuevo que aprender, y algo más que aportar. Sabiendo que diste tu mejor esfuerzo, la satisfacción vendrá incluida.

As project leaders, we can use many concepts to determine project success (maybe too many!) however, to ensure we are using the right metrics, we must AGREE IN THE SUCCESS CRITERIA AHEAD OF TIME. To that end, we may create a business case, project charter, and other deliverables where we specify the expected outcomes in terms of objectives achieved, quality standards, resources utilized, level of team collaboration, risk tolerance, time delivery, budget management, customer satisfaction, etc. "Like" if you agree.

Achieving project success is meeting defined and measurable project objectives. It is worth noting that achieving stakeholder satisfaction is crucial to overall project success.

1. A project that is successfully closed means it has met all its objectives & expected benefits are positive or has early indications of positive outcomes of the project for the reason it was initiated. 2. The success is measured in terms of whether the project is delivered at cost, on time, and at acceptable quality. Anything that is at par is a success & above will add to the success factor. 3. Next important measure which is obvious outcome of the above is stakeholder satisfaction (Incase customer project, customer satisfaction), & how did stakeholders feel throughout project execution life cycle (ease & experience). 4 Finally those who have contributed to project must also be happy about the project they have worked for.

I agree with all 5 points mentioned above therefore have no intention to downplay or undermine or belittle any. But the most rewarding for me is to know how impactfull (positively) you are to peoples' lives. Can be those working directly or indirectly with you, or even those who benefited from the project.

In addition to everything mentioned above; To evaluate the degree of contribution to achieving the set objectives in the short and long term, and the results and outcomes of the corresponding sector within which this project is included.
