Data collected from a needs assessment almost always raise more areas for improvement than can or should be addressed in one professional development cycle. Select the one or two high-leverage opportunities that best align with your organizational goals. Because the prospect of success is highly motivating, structure your staff development program into mini modules that can be achieved in 4-6 week time frames.

Whenever we talk about training or staff development, it comes down to one point, need analysis. Earlier as I have mentioned in my articles, just don't throw your team for training. It may take extra time and hardship but it's worth it.

Measure your progress against those indicators and adjust professional development along the way to address the indicators your staff are having the most difficulty mastering.
