When you're providing an argument, and you list the pros and cons, it is imperative that the above is a strong version of the truth. It ruins your credibility if your sources clearly favour 1 side while dismissing everything else. During my undergrad research, I was tasked on finding biases in human recall and whether it is an inherent part of our makeup. I made sure my perspective was researched through peer-reviewed journals (such as JSTOR, National Library of Medicine) while providing arguments that clearly went against me. This shows that I strongly care about this subject topic and did my due diligence. Your work and effort matter!

Coming from the world of competitive speech and debate, I've learned over the years to lead and close with your strongest arguments in favor of the position you're choosing to take. If your goal isn't simply to inform, but to persuade your audience, considering sandwiching discussion of opposing viewpoints in the middle of your presentation rather than the beginning or end. Your intro should be laser focused on the argument you plan on making. Your goal should be to close your speech with the last lingering thoughts in your audience's mind being on why your viewpoint is the correct one (and subsequently, if you're in the sales or marketing space like I am now, some call to action for how your audience can continue engaging with you).
