Understanding people's thoughts, desires, aspirations, and daily lives is best achieved through ethnographic research. As an anthropologist, I advocate for this approach because it provides deep insights into why people behave as they do by understanding their cultural contexts, beliefs, and behaviors. This method involves participant observation and in-depth interviews, allowing researchers to immerse themselves in participants' lives. Unlike template-driven studies, ethnography prioritizes becoming part of participants' lives, deeply listening, and feeling what is happening and why. Though time-consuming, the insights gained far surpass those from artificial focus-group settings. Our aim is not just to answer "what?" but to explore "why?"
