Survival Analysis is not easy. However, today there are numerous paper tutorials available without cost that include both an explanation and a code to follow and implement in R. Bookwise, I always recommend starting with a simple book such as Event History and Survival Analysis: Regression for Longitudinal Event Data by Paul Allison (SAGE Green Book). Digital copies are also available. Once you’ve understood the basics, I recommend that you look for some Survival Analysis Tutorials. A simple google scholar search will show you the numerous journals that have published these type of documents. Most of them have code you can use and customize for your project. The added benefit is you have the author’s comments and suggestions on it.
