When I was a web editor, the marketing team came up with a bunch of key phrases with high search rates and low competition. They were really clunky, and I had to write landing-page content using them. It took a lot of creativity to write a page that had value while including these key phrases. I really don’t think it’s an either or. Write for humans, write conversationally and just simply keep the keywords in mind that those humans search for in the search engines – that’s the only way bots come into the picture.

SEO tools are continuously evolving, and search engine algorithms change regularly. SEO tools can help you identify areas for improvement. If you're working in a team, collaborate using these tools. Many of them offer collaboration features, so team members can work together seamlessly.

Tools are there to make an informative decision, it's just that. There are multitude of tools out there, with their own parameters and different results. Following all their outcomes can make you go bonkers! So, maybe restrict your tool usage only to one tool, or if you use multiple tools, try to find a middle ground? But experimenting with content is a must as things are changing every now and then. Personally i feel there is no limit to creativity and SEO kind of set a boundary to it. In a good or bad way, that's up to you. I feel a content should be easy and fun to read keeping the search intent in mind. And, I know it's easier said than done. But I guess that's how you reach to people online...

This is also key. Using tools like Grammarly can only improve your writing if you use your critical thinking, especially when it comes to medical writing. Spell checkers and such have a very limited medical vocabulary or understanding. If I had blindly allowed Grammarly to "improve" my thesis/manuscript, there would have been numerous errors.

Ahrefs reported that 89.71% of content gets zero traffic from Google. Ouch! SEO tools can help prevent your content from falling into that abyss, but they can't save it from being unengaging.

What's missing from the top 10 search results that you can include to make your post more comprehensive? 2. What's your org's position on the topic? 3. Which subject matter experts can you quote to add original thought and expertise to your content? 4. How can you make your post different while still covering the important points?

The discussions must be directly addressed with the right words that can be a search intent or an active search query. The flow of the articles need to be engaging and must cover discussions in a step-by-step format.

If your piece is easily ingestible, the reader develops an appetite to consume it without getting digital fatigue. Dwell time is a key component of SEO that can only be achieved by being creative with your writing.

Be sure to also prioritize your central content assets to your strategy, such as pillar pieces, or guides, to assign resources where you'll see the most impact. In short, SEO optimizations can be a great opportunity to reshape your content and improve its quality and utility for your audience.

I don’t think they are mutually exclusive - in fact ideally creativity and SEO complement each other. After all, writers want readers to be able to discover their content, and that means including language they may be searching for. It’s a question of balance, really — too much keyword consciousness and it might feel like you are degrading the quality of the content. Just be thoughtful about it, and keep your audience top of mind.

Never overdo SEO. Adding too many key terminologies in a repetitive manner makes your article unreadable and unreliable. Use the keywords wisely and in a limited manner.

It's not always about balance. Depending on the type of content, its purpose, the objectives, the audience, etc, either creativity or SEO may be more important.

I think allowing exposure on multiple sites can be helpful. If people can find your content on a few different platforms that are highly visible (LinkedIn, FB, IG, etc.), you are more likely to get visitors to your personal site. That can decrease the amount of forced SEO needed for people to find your really special content. The key is providing value when they get there.

In my experience, less is more and that's the mantra I follow. Today's generation want snackible content, quick, witty one liners and vibrant visuals, so keep it simple!
