How do you balance action research with your existing teaching responsibilities?

When you're juggling action research with teaching, it's crucial to prioritize your tasks. Consider which elements of your research can have the most immediate impact on your teaching and focus on those first. For example, if you're researching new teaching methods, implementing and observing one technique at a time can make the process more manageable. This targeted approach allows you to integrate research into your daily routine without becoming overwhelmed, ensuring that both your students and your study benefit from your full attention.

Equilibrar la investigación con las responsabilidades docentes puede llegar a ser un gran reto, sin embargo, la ORGANIZACIóN es un pilar fundamental que las hará compatibles. Planificar y crear un HORARIO, donde haya una RUTINA, de manera que, de tranquilidad y espacio para cada actividad. ANOTAR ese horario de forma que todo esté plasmado en el mismo calendario o documento. Al FINALIZAR EL DíA, hacer la planificación del día siguiente para así, empezar desde primera hora con los objetivos claros.

Teaching is mostly scheduled so as an individual, I mark out my teaching appointments and other meetings on the calendar then schedule my research activities in between. But research itself doesn't follow a pattern so I utilise my devices memo to write down every points that comes to mind each time. I then reflect and elaborate on does points during research periods. But the maaain key is that we need to schedule and dedicate that time solely for the research.

Collaboration is the best way to get research work done. Sharing the responsibility according to each one's strength is also significant. I mostly prefer collaboration whenever the need be. It also help you get different perspectives on the research which can lead to another project. But it is significant to choose wisely your collaborators since some might not be able to contribute immensely to the research if you're not a firm person. Basically, I prefer collaborating with colleagues who are quite interested in the research area and are ever ready to join. It will be at your own detriment to add people who are not ready to collaborate on the project although they are very familiar with the research area.

Additionally, consider involving students in your research projects as assistants or co-researchers, providing them with valuable hands-on learning experiences. Regular check-ins and updates will help keep the collaboration running smoothly and ensure that progress aligns with both research and teaching objectives.

Crear una RUTINA y ORGANIZACIóN no es incompatible con SER FLEXIBLE. La organización está para marcar X objetivos/temporada (día-semana-mes) y la rutina para dar tranquilidad mental. Sin embargo, pueden surgir imprevistos tanto externos como internos, positivos y sobrevenidos que, si la organización es equilibrada, no tendrán mucha repercusión sobre nuestra planificación.
