The issue with the STAR Method is that the 'Situation' needs to be stated directly and fully without breaching confidentiality. Especially in legal, medical, compliance, government issues. This is my example: Eg: A women entered a gated commercial property in her car. Then got out to walk into a yard. As she opened a gate, a dog rushed out biting her repeatedly on the leg. An ambulance was called. The dog owner stated it was not his responsibility as 'she shouldn't have been there in the first place' That took more than 30 seconds. I always open with a statement 'In answering the question please note that I can not identify the LGA or the persons involved because of confidentiality/court matter.' It can be difficult situation to be in.

Most supervisors want you to say we. I find it unfair when all they want is to look good. It's irrelevant because I did all the work it took time and commitment on my part not the organization as a whole. We should be allowed to say I. And sometimes they give the credit to another co-worker who had nothing to do with it.
