The two best QA teams I've worked with we did not utilize test plans or spend "busy work" time on writing a bunch of detailed test cases. Most applications are ever changing and those test cases are no longer relevant even just a few months later. Regression was an automation focus and scripts were updated accordingly. We emphasized communication between QA, development and product. Specifically, in the grooming and planning sessions. From this, QA developed acceptance criteria and this coinciding with the requirements resulted in the entire team being aligned on the individual stories and overall sprint goals. Any QA certification is just a starting point, Agile methodology isn't "by the book" it's what works best for the team.

He pensado en muchas ocasiones que lo que estudiamos, lo podemos saber, pero ponerlo a práctica es algo que puede llegar a ser complejo, sin embargo, para poder llevarlo a la práctica será necesario encontrar el momento y la situación, en mi experiencia me basé en ISTQB para aprender todo lo que actualmente hago, ya sea para analizar requerimientos, para ejecutar pruebas, para dise?ar casos de prueba, toda la práctica conlleva a que debes conocer la teoría, claro, esto no es limitativo, ya que muchas veces tenemos compa?eros que pueden mostrarnos las técnicas que ellos usan y de qué forma hacen sus análisis. Siempre tratemos de aprender y sacar provecho, de la experiencia.

El reporte de pruebas es esencial para conocer y saber el estado del proyecto, para poder dar un avance general, necesitamos establecer y definir métricas claras para el cierre del proyecto. En mi experiencia lo que consideraría para reportar puede ser, los casos de prueba ejecutados, los casos que fallaron, los bugs identificados y con qué criticidad se definieron, además de, dar a conocer el tiempo que nos llevo ejecutar las pruebas. Para finalizar, también es importante mencionar si hemos detectado algún riesgo asociado al producto o proyecto para que sea considerado al momento enviarlo a producción.

In over 25 years as a hiring manager building TCoE’s and MTS’s I have never seen any member of any of my teams actively implement anything that they learned in a classroom (especially where they paid for it). ISTQB etc were dreamed up as cash cows by the old guard from the 60’s and 70’s who managed to get it embedded in the QA and testing world. I actually failed to get interviews with 20 years experience on my CV because I didn’t have ISTQB. Years ago, I was invited to join the committee and build the product. I would take experience and personality over qualifications every time.

I have been a senior test strategist for over 25 years. In all that time I have never hired someone on the basis of their test qualifications and don’t actually remember any member of any of my teams suggesting anything that they learned from their courses that we could implement to improve our test strategy. Experience over qualifications every time - don’t waste your money on courses dreamed up by a bunch of testers in the 1980’s.
