Let me discuss about some of the driver assistance systems that contribute to accident prevention: Collision Warning and Avoidance: Forward Collision Warning (FCW): Alerts the driver when there's a risk of colliding with the vehicle in front. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): Automatically applies the brakes if a collision is imminent, reducing the severity of the impact or avoiding it altogether. Levando em considera??o principalmente os trechos e condi??es do motorista brasileiro, estas medidas s?o excelentes afim de poupar o motorista, tendo em vista que infelizmente alguns trafegam em condi??es desfavoráveis! Acho interessante, é sensacional essa medida e acredito que o nossos governo deveria participar ativamente deste processo, além das manuten??es das vias, deveria haver um incentivo e/ou facilidades para às empresas assim poderem implementar tais medidas; como redu??o de impostos para tal tecnologia (o que infelizmente é uma utopia no nosso cenário). Temos que lembrar que tal investimento é um recurso de ganho coletivo e que atinge grande parte da popula??o que além de trazer seguran?a ao condutor principal e terceiros!

Most of the accidents happens due to human error and ADAS bridge this gap. One classic example can be driver's hypnosis. In this way, most of the boring task while driving is taken care by ADAS system with utmost safety. Another key point is, ADAS enables the user to get connect with outside devices like charging points, shops, gas stations using infotainment systems.

Driving assistance systems are designed to help the drivers to assist them just in case they cannot foresee what is going to happen in terms of distraction and complication. But in anyhow depending too much on an assisting system is not a good thing. Driver should always be aware of what is going on the environment he/she is driving into and should be in control as always.

In my personal experience as a professional driver, automotive repair and electronics technician, I do not feel that these systems make drivers safer. Quite the opposite. We are seeing more preventable and distracted driving accidents than ever before. Drivers of today never fully develop the necessary skills to maintain control in the event of an emergency because they rely heavily on the vehicle to do it for them. Essentially we wrap them in bubble wrap (newer vehicles are much safer than ever before) and hand them a license to drive without teaching them defensive driving or ensuring they are responsible enough to stay focused on the road. I turn off traction control in my vehicle when I drive. I do not want control taken from me.

When auto manufacturers advertise driving assistance, they should not exceed the functional capabilities themselves to avoid car owners from having too high expectations for the function itself. In particular, assistance system between L2 and L3 requires reasonable trust from the driver. In addition, the government and relevant legislators should also strengthen the publicity and guidance of driving assistance and encourage the public to establish reasonable understanding and usage habits of assisted driving. Thus, raise the entire society's awareness of road traffic safety, thereby awakening people's attention of putting people first.
