Especially in capital intensive investment decision, where mountain of money is at stake, scenario planning will give you some comfort in your long term investment decision. Hence providing your the opportunity to minimize losses and pivot for any abrupt changes.

I would consider the next factors: - main competitor drastically changes the price or value proposition, - main competitor launches a huge campaign, - new niche competitors appear on the market (Uber for taxi) - the list of internal risks (fire on the main stock, resignment of key executives at C-Level). The worst scenario should be the mainstream of planning. Because if you handle it, all the rest will be easy to resist.
