An example I've seen or practiced myself is observe the employee or peer on there style of work ethic. I also take notes of good and bad behaviors so when the opportunity arises we can discuss areas they can work on. I also like to ask them to provide feedback so I can better grow myself. This comes to give me a 80 to 95 percent rate of engagement because they see how transparent and how I am willing to coach them in a manner that is unique to there personality. As a leader or manager I do my best to share stories and I challenge areas they don't feel confident or ready to do. I enjoy that time passes and they start to see positive when they keep an open mind.
