For instance, you might give a member of the marketing team active feedback by congratulating them on trying out and implementing an effective social media strategy while also offering suggestions for boosting engagement numbers through finely segmented content. In my experience most important aspect is regular feedback to check the responses and the attitude towards performance management. Feedback should include four aspects in each goals both on subjective and objective. Discussion should be held on when each goal would be achieved and be agreed upon .The discussion should happen during goal set up and periodic discussion on - improvement areas - exceeded the goals - met the goals -Timelines if need to be updated
The third step to a successful performance evaluation is to involve your team in the evaluation process. This means that you should not only communicate the goals and feedback to your team, but also solicit their input and feedback. You can do this by asking them to self-evaluate their performance, to share their opinions and suggestions, and to participate in peer reviews. By involving your team in the evaluation process, you can help them feel valued, respected, and empowered.
For example, team members could be asked to rate their own performance level and make comments about how the working process might go more smoothly. This means that you should not only measure and monitor the performance of your team, but also acknowledge and appreciate it. You can do this by offering tangible rewards, such as bonuses, promotions, or perks, or intangible rewards, such as praise, appreciation, or opportunities. By linking performance to rewards and recognition, you can help your team feel motivated, satisfied, and loyal.
Based on my experience, I believe that rewards and recognition play a crucial role in motivating a team. To encourage everyone to improve, it's important to hold quarterly rewards and recognition ceremonies where management acknowledges both the teams and individual performers. During these ceremonies, the manager should share specific instances where they recognized the team to inspire and motivate them further.
Rewards and recognition is an integral part of performance management as it motivates everyone in the team to work towards their goals. Achieving the results on time or before time need to accompany with rewards and recognition. Recognition can be at team, business unit or organizational level and rewards can include bonus, pay raise and promotion. Not meeting the goals on the other hand should also include performance improvement plans for the team performance and motivation to increase at an overall level
The fifth step to a successful performance evaluation is to follow up and support your team. This means that you should not only evaluate and reward the performance of your team, but also support their growth and development. You can do this by providing coaching, mentoring, training, or resources to your team members, or by creating a culture of learning and improvement. By following up and supporting your team, you can help them achieve their goals, overcome their difficulties, and enhance their skills.

The leader guides the team provides responsibility to the team members and takes accountability towards their team and ensures that each team member develops over time to be a leader. In addition knowing the team member preferences the leader also needs to provide technical, behavioral, leadership training sessions and include it in the goals in discussion with the team member. This again develops not only the team but the organization as whole to a higher levels

You can do this by collecting feedback from your team and stakeholders, by analyzing the results and outcomes of the evaluation, and by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the system. By reviewing and improving your evaluation system, you can ensure that it meets the needs and expectations of your team and your organization.
This is a broad topic. Performance management is one of the basic hygiene of team that must get utmost importance. Here is what I would suggest: * Have a well documented performance management guideline. Make clear documentation on role expectations at each level. * Make template available for evaluators and teams to clearly document contributions, impact, achievements. * Be intentional in creating an unbiased review process, make it as much transparent possible, with multiple level of review. * Let the team be well aware of this process, coach and mentor them to understand and make impactful contribution * Be consistent and predictable, avoid surprises or last minute changes, build authenticity around the process
