1 Assess your strengths and interests

What I think is taking a proactive approach by self-assessing own skills are proposing a lateral move can be an effective strategy. What I do, identify how my current skill set aligns with the requirements of the desired lateral position. I make it more result making towards results the group is looking for from lateral position. Once manager or HR is aware I find time to propose my thoughts in statical manner. This is best approach which I generally use whenever I want the favour. So basically actions makes first move is my point here.

So when you're eyeing a job switch in ERP, it's key to first get a good grip on what you're great at and what you're into. Look back at your work in ERP: what projects did you nail? Where did you get the best feedback? Think about the parts of the job you really dig. Then, match your skills and interests with what's out there. Are companies looking for folks with your skills? What's the pay like? Seeing how you fit in the bigger ERP market scene is super helpful. Finally, think about where you might need to level up. Maybe there's a new ERP tool you need to learn, or some soft skills to polish. Getting clear on these bits helps you pitch your job change confidently, showing you're not just ready for a change, but you're geared up for it.

Antes de especializarse en una área en concreto es importante saber si tenemos suficiente conocimiento sobre esta tanto dentro como fuera de la empresa. Por otro lado es importante saber como están evolucionando estas áreas dentro de la empresa y como invierten en ella los diferentes fabricantes de software.

Es importante poder trasladar tu propuesta al responsable de departamento, a la persona de RRHH que se encargue de este tema y al responsable de IT para que vean tu propuesta y obtengas feedback sobre ellas.
