Networking is not just about exchanging contact information or asking for favors; it is about building genuine and meaningful relationships with people who can support you and who you can support in return. To do this, you must be proactive, respectful, and helpful. Start by introducing yourself to people who interest you and explain why you want to connect. Show interest in their work, goals, and challenges by asking open-ended questions and listening actively. Then share your own work, goals, and challenges honestly and authentically.
