In my view, Needs Analysis documents should also include: - Risk documentation that is relevant to each need/requirement, which briefly describes risks for business (or for existing systems) in proceeding forward with that requirement or need. Because, I think that this might help to have a healthy conversation with the customer in future and also to internally mitigate risks with delivery. - Minutes of Meetings and recordings of the meetings held with various stakeholders. - documentation of the Value that each need is adding to both the customer and also the Product/Existing system. (good to have) - Question and Answer (Q&A) documents, Feedback Collection documents & Stakeholder Approval documents made during requirements elicitation

I have neither seen nor used a need analysis; on the other hand, it could be argued that every BA has used a similar analysis and work within its bound. That said, I did not entirely agree with the main principles highlighted about. I believed a Need Analysis should be treated in the same way as scope to avoid issues like scope creep, and unnecessary waste cost and time. For instance, say we have a NA ver 1.0 for a membership mobile app that all stakeholders had confirmed to be accurate and complete. If in 2 months, the same NA is reviewed and found to be inaccurate or incomplete due to say tech or hardware update, then the new refinement should lead to either ver 1.1 or ver 2.
