Training models using these tasks can result in outcomes that are more accurate or faster than manual processes, particularly for tasks that require high volume or consistency. This approach not only improves efficiency but also adds significant value by enhancing the quality of output and operational speed. Moreover, innovative ML models can sometimes accomplish tasks beyond human capabilities, potentially offering even greater value. However, these might not always be as straightforward.

Identifying the areas to leverage ML is definitely the first step in creating value for your organization. Of course, if you don't know what you should work on, how can you even start randomly? From my experience, start by understanding your organization's workflow. This would make you a valuable resource for your company while helping you identify which areas can be improved by the introduction of ML. It may seem tedious, but I think it should be the way to begin. Once you have a basic understanding, interact with your colleagues and your manager/authorities about how you feel ML can be leveraged in certain cases and what benefit it would incur to the organization. Maybe a small proof of concept can be presented to prove the utility.

There are many types of ML techniques, such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and deep learning, that can be used for different purposes and scenarios. In my experience working with employee data, choosing the right ML approach is a nuanced journey, whether it's predicting employee turnover or optimizing recruitment processes. For example, in predicting employee turnover, start with research on turnover drivers: is it low engagement, lack of job satisfaction, people leadership expectations, or lack of career growth? This can guide the choice between supervised vs. unsupervised learning. Ethical considerations are VERY important, especially in HR - the ML approach should address any biases in the algorithm to ensure fair decision making.

The third step is to implement and deploy your ML solutions in a reliable and scalable way. Making Machine Learning transparent simply means making it easy for everyone to understand how the ML algorithms make their decisions. Imagine eating a weird looking burger that you are not aware of what is in it or how it was made; you will most likely be scared to eat it if the recipe is a secret. Aside from ML transparency, it is only ethical for the ML algorithm to be accountable for whatever choice it makes. For example, in image recognition, if the algorithm wrongly identifies someone in a photograph, there should be a way to resolve it, there should be a way for it to keep learning from past mistakes and keep getting better. This makes people feel safer and more confident about using it. ~ I make Data Analytics easy for everyone ~

Here's an unpopular opinion - Do not use ML or AI just because it sounds cool! Algorithms have their own limitations and they get amplified when the data is not in the desired format or quality. In my academic life, I have been in multiple situations where I tried to implement an ML model for a research purpose which didn't add any value to a simple non-AI coding solution. This can be avoided if the person really understands - a) The use case, and b) The theoretical aspects of available ML models and their limitations.
