In Improv I have to be aware of the location, relationship to other actors, and situation as established by my scene mates. If my scene mate says we are doctors and then audience placed us in a hospital, then I am going react as if I am a doctor and colleague to the other actor and not as if I am a farmer in a barn interacting with a horse. In a requirements gathering session, I am listening to my partners' stated needs, wants, and priorities. I am reflecting back to them what I hear and understand based on their emphasis. I use attentive listening and observation of body language to match their tone just as I would in an improv exercise.
