It would be a good practice for the company to have them even more personalized to cover its own and internal needs. This type of training will help new resources that enter the organization, for example.

Also to consider is that some ERP solutions have support for recording of processteps that can be used for training purposes. These recordings can be both distributed or stored in the solution. The good thing is that these are company specific, using familiar information like master data as well as way of working. These works very well according to my experience.

Why important to customer - Because customer can ensure that all the users are familiar with day-to-day operations in the ERP, since ERP is a common platform that users move between business operations such as sales, purchasing, planning, inventory management, GL entries, projects, FA and etc. To get the benefit of the time factor, its useful for the users to have proper hands-on training to do their work. Why important to vendor - Vendor has to provide training, so that users are confident in the ERP operations. Can get user signoffs easily. After Go-Live support will be much easier with a set of well-trained users.
