L’écoute est une bonne méthode pour s’imprégner, à la fois du rythme de la phrase, et des sonorités. Parfois, il s’avère important de commencer à employer des tournures de phrases que l’on a déjà entendu autour de soi, ce qui permet de les tester en situation contextuelle réelles. Comment tout apprentissage linguistique, le seul moyen de progresser c’est d’abord de faire des erreurs. L’erreur est en quelque sorte nécessaire pour pouvoir s’approprier l’esprit de ce qui forment l’essence, même d’une langue étrangère !

Another way you can use formative assessment to improve your speaking skills is by engaging in conversations, especially unplanned ones. Do well to record the conversation, then forward to your language teacher or coach who helps to assess your speaking proficiency; highlighting the gap between your performance and where you ought to be. He/she should also recommend ways you can get better and specific activities that will help you hone your speaking proficiency in the target language.

La plus grosse, erreur à ne pas commettre, c’est de vouloir tout ma?triser… Dès le départ. Il est normal que l’on fasse des erreurs dans une langue qui n’est pas forcément celle que l’on parle habituellement. En fait le plus important, c’est de ne jamais se sentir ? frustré?, parce qu’on ne conna?t pas forcément le mot exact; les registres linguistique sont suffisamment riches pour pouvoir utiliser des tournures de phrases permettant de se faire comprendre dans n’importe quelle situation. Y compris dans celle que l’on ne conna?t pas, et que l’on découvre au moment T !
