How can you use empathy to design a more user-friendly website?

Some ways to get started, depending on the level of access to the users. For limited internal resources, you can start with exploratory research and read through credible articles on the target market/users to better understand the industry landscape and the specific product or feature you are trying to build. Also, look into some of the common user-journey. Use that to make certain behaviors and assumptions about users and create proto-personas or archetypes to support your design decisions/approach. Otherwise, I would connect with the product owner, prior designer, or other stakeholders to understand the current state of the product, the target users, any prior research done, and the potential expansion of the user research.

Empathy is a key to create user-friendly designs. We designers do that by understanding our users thoroughly. 1: Firstly, Research is mandatory to gain users' perspectives. 2: secondly, There are many techniques in UX, like Empathy maps, user personas and so on to deeply understand users needs. Well! To empathize with user, my favorites are interviews then personas. 3: Lastly, according to the data it's time to have some ideas to fulfill users' needs. In this way, when we consider users from starting of the design till the end, we can add empathy in designs.

Assumptions and biases that the team bring to the table won't always be obvious. An important first step is to challenge current thinking and get assumptions out into the open. Ask lots of questions of the team (how do we know this, why do we think that's important, etc) to dig deeper and unpack what you think you know about the audience. Then you can design tests to validate (or not!) those assumptions. If the diversity of the audience isn't represented in the team design, then ensure there are appropriate actions to involve those perspectives in the testing approach.
