The ethics of creating an algorithmic system that recommends a user the "best" fit for them is quite interesting. Most users prefer privacy but an excess of privacy leads to worse recommendations. Some of the best algorithms are the most intrusive because they can use more data points from the user to fine tune their content feed. This is a challenge for developers, as we must find a balance between creating an algorithm that satisfies users with it's recommendations but is also not an invasion of privacy.
