While researching for roles, you can do the following: 1. Read the job description carefully. 2. Speak to people who work in these roles on what their day looks like and evaluate if this is how you want your day to be like. 3. Look at which roles you resonate with, or what excites you.

Short term courses goes a long way. We need to ask question to ourselves Am I equipped for the new role? or do I need a little bit polish to fit myself like a glove in this new Industry? Whenever looking for a change, one must look for a change or improvement in their learning as well by doing some short term Courses. Some comes free, some comes with a cost considering everyone's budget

While you may not have worked in hospitality, there are roles and responsibilities that are similar. Make sure to highlight that in the interview. For example, 1. You may have helped organize a sale event or a new season merchandise launch event at your store. Talk about what skills you utilized (planning skills, marketing skills, delegation, creativity, etc.) and then link it to how you can demonstrate same skills while planning an event at the hotel (let's say Christmas celebrations). 2. In retail you conduct regular inventory of merchandise at store, give this example and link how similar task can be performed at hotel.
