In my opinion unit economics is a basic metric that should be considered in any venture that plans to be self sufficient at any point in their lifecycle. Unit economics tell you 2 very important things: 1. Can you deliver your product or service profitably? If there is no reasonable scenario where each unit can be profitable, you’ll need to rethink. 2. What is the minimum price you need for profitability and by extension is that a price your customers will be willing to pay? Tracking involves knowing your costs and revenue at a unit level. Key part is to ensure all inputs are included in the calculation. You don’t need complex systems to start, a list on your phone or excel would do as long as every direct & indirect input is included
