Historical Research is a teaching methodology that can be used to make reference to the present curriculum . As a teacher,,historical research is related to survey or kind of research to identify and collect data and bring out evidence which is used to teach the present topics in the school curriculum. The following subjects can be taught with the aid of historical research: Literature in English,civic education,history,social studies, government ,religious knowledge and indigenous languages: yoruba,igbo,hausa. A teacher can teach the topic "African Myth" in Literature in English through historical research by comparing the traditional myth about stories of human beings and animals in the 18th century and the reality of the 21st century.

I’m concerned about the burgeoning movement, at least in the US, to omit or modify certain historical facts for multiple reasons. While using source and seminal materials may provide a good base, I’m concerned about the effects of the movement. Currently, the burgeoning movement is centered on elementary through secondary education. Where it will really become problematic is when these kiddos get to the tertiary level: They will either be fixed in their beliefs and refuse to engage or be unwilling to consider materials that go against their own beliefs as they engage, or both. That is a direct hit against the critical thinking needed for college and the work world. I don’t even know if I answered the question correctly. I’m concerned.
