This might be a radical thing to say here, but I recommend avoiding ATS all together. Unless your resume already looks like the job description, a much better approach is to network. If you don't know anyone at your target company, connect with people you don't know. You need a human being inside the organization to shepherd your resume past the ATS. That's my best advice. Now, even when a human (hopefully hiring manager) has seen your resume and wants to hire you, they may ask you to apply through the system. Go ahead and do that. But now you have an advocate who can pull your resume forward out of the reject pile. Navigate around ATS by dealing with humans.
