The other key tip is have a number ITIL champions working as team because it will fail if 1. Executive support is not front and centre and 2. The project team doesn’t engage and demonstrate the benefits.

Implementation of everyone to a high level of maturity is not feasible and may in fact waste money, time and business cycles not to mention the credibility of your program. Your assessment should provide insight into the areas that have the most impact, urgency & opportunity for quick wins. Most organizations start with 3 to 6 practices.
