From my experience, organizations sometimes feel the need to push for higher MG, since it represents guaranteed revenue and an incentive for a licensee to strive to outperform. While this is not incorrect, sometimes MG that is higher that may be called for, means that a licensee will be left will less cash to spend on tools (e.g. marketing) that would otherwise help to achieve better results in a longer run.

In implementing the agreement and subsequent partnership management, regular, constant and transparent communication is the key in building an effective relationship and successful business. This should include performance review. Normally, quarterly cadence is applied to deeper-dive review with potentially bigger stakeholder pool present. Throughout the processes of agreement implementation and execution, licensor's job is to provide licensee with all information and tools (data, insights, future plans etc.) to enable them to be as successful as possible.
