I knew my conversion rate, so I would say that, I need eight rejections for every conversion. Then I think “great, just one more rejection closer to a conversion”.

You probably already know that this happens even more often than winning! Keep working and seeking new business, and treat rejection as a part of business. Also remember that following up helps you build relations. If you got rejected, follow up to understand the reasons. In what areas was the winner of the deal better? What were the decisive factors? If you have won a deal, do not forget about the client – check how things are going and see where you can be of support. Following up is one of the most powerful tools you have.

Prepare your own pitch by learning the pitches of the seniors or veterans in the team. Keep changing your pitch every 3 months by adding values and very soon you will realize that you have learnt how to play with your pitches. Sales Pitch should also cover the questions which you may ask the client as to understand the pain areas. Provide resolutions and share examples in your pitch on how you have resolved challenges of other clients.
One of my original sales mentors taught me a great trick for a simple personal motivation plan. Keep a rubber band on your wrist. Anytime you're questioning if you should actually make the call, snap that baby as hard as you possibly can to remind you to get over yourself and make the call. I still use this trick 24 years later. I'm honored to have been among the top sales people in any company I've worked in. This is the simple MOTIVATION PLAN that's made it possible!

One of the most important part in any sales is all about creating new prospects. Dont get bogged down by rejections.Its a part and parcel of any sales. Start creating new prospects and eventually a bigger funnel will be created which will help you to close deals.
Sales isn't the right seat for everybody. By definition, in order to get to "yes", you have to be willing to go through a whole bunch of "no". See my post above. My biggest sale ever took 18 phone calls. 18! Not everybody is willing to go the distance and trudge through countless "no" to get to a few key "yes". So, don't beat yourself up if that's just not who you are or what you want your life to look like. The best thing you can do is get out of a sales seat if it's not the right seat for you. But if you're not sure, then maybe you need to stick with it. All of the early personality testing said I was a wild card and probably wouldn't be great at sales. I proved them wrong. Techniques like mindfulness, exercise, or even simple breathing exercises have helped me maintain a clear head & reduce the emotional impact of rejections.
