What ultimately counts is exceeding quota and targets, of course. However, one way to stand out from other high performers is to set goals in areas other than the sales revenues numbers. Some examples of such goals are: - Selling products and services at higher margins than what's expected. - Selling multiple products or services in a single sale. For example, if you are selling a widget, also bundle it with a turn-key operation service. - Building deeper relationships with clients. Studies show that it's five times easier to sell to existing clients than to new ones. Building deeper, values-based relationships leaves the door open for more sales down the road.

Close sales. Never go into a review meeting (you should have them weekly, at the very least monthly) and start making excuses or try to distract their attention to some other "really extremely important" issue that has nothing to do with closing sales. We all do it, but get in a habit of not talking about anything else until you've reviewed your lagging indicators (closed sales) relative to goal and THEN the leading indicators (meetings set, calls made, etc.) relative to goal. THEN talk about that important "Strategy" thing that you really wanted to cover.

Acredito que entregar as metas estipuladas pela empresa é esperado, porém a forma que a meta é entregue pode fazer a diferen?a, mostrar comprometimento com a qualidade dessa entrega, com a forma que o cliente é atendido, superando as expectativa dele e fidelizando tornará a entrega da meta uma consequência.

One the other sure things to star out hand to hand with good high numbers is the ability to generate and drive sales from dead leads or lost follow ups, The fact that a sales person drives sales from lost opportunities is as significant as driving already existing sales base because of the expansion impact it has. It demonstrates a different skill of selling and communication, it demonstrates persistence and determination, building a stronger customer experience and base.

Total überholte Ans?tze, die vielleicht vor 10-15 Jahren noch total im Trend lagen.

In meinen bisherigen Führungspositionen habe ich die Au?endienstmitarbeiter am meisten gesch?tzt, die nicht nur intrinsisch motiviert ihre Aufgaben angegangen sind sondern beim L?sen von Problemen oder ben?tigten Freigaben ihre Sichtweise zusammen mit m?glichen L?ungsvorschl?gen vorgebracht haben. Das empfinde ich als unternehmerisches Denken und Handeln. Und damit sticht man aus der Masse heraus.

I just saw a great example of this by someone on my team. They had a sales call with a potential client where he already works with another division of their company. He explained that he was not just there to sell another product to him but to partner with the client in helping them sell it in their market along with collaborating on the best ways to go about it. Everyone is selling something, but is the client just a number or are they a partner in their market.

Reputation is one of the biggest assets you have in sales. It can be lost overnight and take years to rebuild with some clients. The relationships you build will become your friends over time and even some of your best friends. Always remember that to build lasting relationships you need to be genuine and without a motive, these will carry you through the tough times when you least expect it.

This is very simple… people don’t buy products from companies. They buy relationships from people. The best sales reps I’ve ever worked with all had the same thing in common, they worked to attend their customers needs. The sales came after the fact. Again, people buy from people. Finding out how you can become the go to person for whatever you do is the fastest way to grow your customer base.

You are the face of your company. Relationships that provide value on a transactional level as well as a personal one will set you above your competitors. On the other side, a negative or dishonest interaction can destroy your professional reputation and that of the companies. Be honest if you cannot provide the best solution and the honesty will pay it forward.

You should never be comfortable in your job or even life. Complacency is not the answer. Transforming and training in all that you do to be better than yesterday will guarantee that you stay ahead, be innovated, and be better overall. Trying is an ineffective approach but training is where you progress.

One of the things I was taught early on in my career is seek advice early and often, but don’t add problems to your boss’s desk. First you show initiative and critical thinking skills. You are showing yourself as an owner and not just a worker. Secondly you and your leader gain confidence in your decision making skills. By offering solutions and not more problems it allows them to quickly guide you to the correct answer and you will have future understanding of expectations when the situation arises again. Being a part of the solution instead of adding to the workload of problems your manager currently has will put you at the top of their list. It drives some loyalty and they will fight for you instead of watching you struggle.

To add to the conversation: 1. Lead by example: Do only what you would ask others to do. Something I had to learn the hard way... understand there are only so many hours in a day. Learn when to say no and rely on your team. 2. Recognize others strengths. If you are leading a project: set clear goals, timelines, communicate and utilitize the strengths of each to get things done (or to teach someone else something to elevate their skills) 3. If the goal is true teamwork and collaboration, it should be about getting the team recognized for their hardwork. If you can share specific things that people did well, all the better. Team recognition is getting noticed, it doesn't need to be just about you.

This is all great stuff. Just to add, one of the keys I believe is leading by example and talk through the thought process when you see things your team doesn’t. It’s about sharing wisdom and knowledge, not telling them what they should’ve done. That’s the obvious way most will handle it, so set yourself a part by showing the leadership and teamwork to the ones you work with.

Yes! All wonderful things that leaders must do. Adding that utilizing the people around you and taking their gifts/talents to reach the overall mission of the company is key to successful management/sales. There is no “I” or “me” in team!

Você n?o precisa estar no cargo de líder para liderar, sua postura e como você ajuda seus pares no dia a dia mostra o líder nato que existe dentro de você, utilize suas habilidades e competências para desenvolver seus pares e até seus líderes, facilite o trabalho dos que est?o à sua volta. O trabalho em equipe vai além de apenas bom relacionamento, é importante doa??o, paciência e muito amor pelo oque você faz. Você deve ensinar o que sabe e aprender com seus pares na rotina do dia a dia, pensar na meta como um todo, e como você pode contribuir para que seus pares também atinjam seus resultados.

This article gives a good foundation, however I think you can take this to the next level by doing just 3 things. 1. Exceed quota (it's sales...you have to exceed your quota) 2. In your first meeting with your manager, ask them "What can I do to make your job easier?" No one asks them this and you will stand out. 3. Volunteer to share information at team meetings to help the rest of the team learn something. That's it! Do these things and you will definitely stand out amongst your peers.

I feel the key to performance in outside sales is listening. And not just listening to formulate a response…listening to understand.

I believe when you give your best in your deliverables and investing in your self for personal growth so that it is a two way journey, you will love what you do and excel at it effortlessly. If your boss can't see it, good people are meant to be recognized, you either appreciate them when they're with you or appreciate them when a void is created once they move on. Aim to do your best and above all do what is right!!!
