You also need to show how you measured and validated the impact and value of your design, such as user satisfaction, engagement, retention, conversion, or revenue. By showing your process, you can demonstrate your skills, knowledge, and expertise in UX design for automotive.

Before designing a product, it is important to understand your audience. This will help you create a cost-effective and feasible design. Here are some steps you can take: 1. Understand the needs of your users and business. 2. Research your competitors. 3. Analyse feedback from customers, clients, partners, other designers, support and sales teams. 4. Ask relevant questions till you are not satisfied (DO NOT HESITATE) 5. Understand other's perspectives.

They're eager to see you visually dissect how you approach problem-solving and connect the dots back to the root issue. I completely agree with it, but as per the industries expectations and my experience. I'd like to express that by understanding the requirements or researching will not be sufficient to create the design. In fact while creating the design we must think about processes, performance of action with 2-3 mind of audience. Also as far as the portfolio is concerned, this must be playful, attractive and crystal clear interactive so that they wouldn't feel bored about who reached the portfolio. Moreover, all case studies are most important to display that should show what was the problem, pain paint and how it's been solved. Secondly must be displayed how the consistency is sustained, by iconography, typography and by color theory.

It’s not an enough to show screen shot of your design solution but sharing your process will show the reasoning behind your design solution. That is what will take your portfolio to another level where you can share your design processes, your challenges and design impact after test. Showing the design process in your case studies is crucial, and can be the most important differentiator between you and other designers. It becomes even more important when we're talking about finding a job. Good looking designs are nice at all, but there are a lot of great UI designers out there. People want to see the reasons behind your design decisions, understand the way you work, and see the skills and tools you used in order to get to the final result. My #1 advice is to approach it like a story you want your visitors to walkthrough, step by step - from the early beginning of the design process, to the final result. Tell it in a chronological way, include all the decisions and key steps , and provoke the curiosity of your visitors

Beyond the design phase, demonstrate your commitment to measurable impact by showcasing how you gauged the success of your design. Highlight metrics such as user satisfaction, engagement rates, retention numbers, conversion statistics, or revenue generated. We may not always feel 100% proud of our design, often due to the unavoidable confrontation with technical and financial constraints, which call for design decisions that may not perfectly align with a human-centered perspective. You become more familiar with the challenges once you put yourself out there. That's why, a design process starts with 'empathising'. You have to think like a user. That's when you find out what the challenges and pain points can be from the viewpoint of users, stakeholders, and businesses likewise. Then, you can proceed to test your designs. Remember, a problem identified is a problem half-solved.

Design is no one-person show, meaning you have shared challenges and solutions. By actively including collaboration experiences, designers can show they can engage with a group, tap into diverse perspectives, leverage specialized expertise, and comprehensively understand user needs and preferences. Make visible that you understand how research and collaboration contribute to optimizing results by aligning design solutions with a more profound comprehension of user behaviors, desires, and pain points.

In my experience, it would be great if build your portfolio by yourself. By doing so, you can control on the entire appearance and the build quality of the portfolio. You will be able to determine the exact responsive behaviour, interactions, and states of all the elements. There are tons of super advanced tools out there, that don't require coding skills, and literally were built for this purpose, such as - webflow, elementor, etc.
