Inter company relationships are by far the most important. If you are able to build those you will gain perspective of the company goal as a whole. Lack of these relationships will prove to be detrimental in your persuit of success.

I worked 8 years for a company. Essentially starting from the bottom as a welder and being promoted to a Quality Director. 6 years as a QC/QA it wasn't the long term position I wanted but it was the position the employer said I was ever going to amount to have there. This broad understanding makes your contributions more significant. For example, if you’re a Superintendent unfamiliar with trades, ask each foreman questions. Don’t just accept their time estimates or reasons for scope changes. Digging deeper helps advance the project and control costs. 2. Review Documentation: Regularly review plans, specifications, RFIs, and Submittals. This thorough understanding turns you into the project’s subject matter expert. By consistently pushing yourself to improve, your organization will recognize and appreciate your efforts.
