I prepare the following to remove dust from ICT devices. An antistatic work mat with a connected earthing plug for the 230V socket, a conductive wristband connected via 1MOhm and a connected crocodile clip to connect the device. A vacuum cleaner with earthed grille over the air outlet. A round soft brush with a diameter of approx. 5 cm and an adjustable compressor with a grounded air gun. A set of antistatic cloths and window cleaner. Various pliers and screwdrivers are also provided.

First, I remove any remaining exchangeable data carriers from the device, label the connected cables and disconnect all cables. Then I place the device on the antistatic mat, connect the earth terminal and put on the antistatic wristband. With Notebokks, the battery is removed. For PCs, switches and routers, I remove the cover plates where possible.

I start by cleaning the outside, loosening the dust with the brush and vacuuming it away. I clean the ventilators with regulated compressed air and vacuum the dust from the outside. I vacuum the air vents and finish with the brush.
