One thing I have found helpful is having the teams do a mock demo of what they are planning to demonstrate. Additionally, WFH made me realise the need to check or clearly state many things when giving a demo [ for ex: I am giving this demo with my monitor resolution set to a x b resolution . This helps others who are probably viewing this in a bigger screen or projector ] . In this era of virtual meetings, it becomes important to communicate what you are doing as even a couple of minutes of silence can be interpreted as lost connectivity etc.

Agree with what’s already been said, but also make sure people have chance to speak, invite (in a collaborative way) people to add their perspective. You have invited people to the meeting for a reason so make sure you get their input and they feel valued / appreciated. Else they won’t come to the next one

-I have observed that not only for Sprint Review but any Sprint meeting for that matter, the key element is to have right set of invitees and proper agenda . - Most of the times the meeting invite itself reflects how well prepared the host is going to be for this meeting. - Make sure you provide the right information in the invite so that there is a set expectation for the stakeholders.

The Actions/Decisions from the meeting should be documented and shared immediately. Additionally the Risks/Issues/Dependencies/Blockers/Actions/Decisions should be centrally available in a project specific register. I don't think there needs to be anything but an open door policy to the PM I find that leaving time at Sprint meetings for open discussion becomes expensive n times the number of high level resources you tie down for the meeting.

I think that the most important thing is to crate a safe enviroment and be clear that is not a personal judgement or 'point fingers' meeting. All projects have risks and issues and its fine. The sprint review is about what the team accomplished with client satisfaction and product improvement. To verify if the planning was accurate done and all stakeholders were correctly involved to achieve that feature.

Well, brief and informative. I would like just to add that scrum team should be well educated in the methodology itself. I.e., some training is needed. People keep hearing stuff about scrum and think they know it. In practice it becomes clear that people think in their own way each. Thus, a common and correct understanding will save lots of headaches not only in the sprint review meeting but also in the overall lifetime of the project.
