The best way is to push those kinds of journalists to talk more than listening & explain more than asking questions. Young & fresh journalists are always eager to put pressure on people by asking lots of questions without considering answers! Why not to let them feel the other side?

Meet in person if it’s possible. Seeing someone’s face and engaging in that to and fro of communication, may avoid mid-communication and/or tone which could happen in emails or even virtually.
