When It comes to research that involves solving problems and challenges before it arises, that would be called proactive/preventative research and is one of my favorite practices. Especially when it comes to invention... It is crucial to be responsible when new inventions and innovations are introduced to the world. What can occur as the result of my invention? As it relates to knowing and understanding context, I would say that is very important and is the centerpiece of the entire research project. Take the time to communicate with everyone on the research team; it is important to be educated on what exists as far as context. Misunderstandings can lead to false and harmful outcomes. #research #data #samgloverbigdata

Risk assessment analysis toward invention and its impact on the world is one thing. We also have RA when it comes to the market and investors. Both have different research methodologies and paths. One example in invention is a solar powered street lighting technology I was asked to help with. Some of the problems we brainstormed on was weather that may hinder the power for several days and how the solar powered street lights would perform. When it comes to investment RA we can do a SWOT analysis by understanding the potential risk of an investment by analyzing the competition. Is there even a demand for a proposed new invention or product? Is the market saturated? #ai #research #exploration #invention #samgloverbigdata

This is key to take the approach to RA from the position of student who is always learning, as opposed to a master who has all the answers. Especially in the climate we are living in, there are some risks that we will not know until we experience it. Just like the pandemic, there were many organisations who had to learn from experiencing these unexpected circumstances for the first time. When we become more comfortable within our learning process, we can become more efficient analysts.
