Another way to reduce emissions is to replace air freight with rail transport whenever possible. Especially for non-food products this is possible in many cases. Further options: 1) New production plants (inhouse & from suppliers) can be located with existing access to rail transport. 2) Green supply chains can be taken into account when awarding new suppliers.
