When I read self-help books for business, I like to read a quality summary, like from blinkist.com. If I enjoyed the summary, I'll borrow the audiobook from the library using the Libby app and go through it at 3x speed to get through most books in 1-2 days. Then if I want to go deeper, I'd read the same book again by borrowing the ebook from the library. I'd borrow it again from the library, but this time in physical format, if I want to skim through it deeper. And finally, I have a few dozen books on my bookshelf that I adore. These books I've purchased from a local bookstore and have annotated the margins and posted sticky notes and dogeared ever page.

If reading an audiobook, you can finish one book a week at 2-3x speed. Most books are 10-15 hours long, which is about 3-8 hours at this speed. If we commute an hour a day each way, it's definitely a possibility. Setting a goal of 40 books a year is very doable!
