sometimes client have a general business/marketing strategy but not necessary a digital strategy. it is our responsibility to understand what are their overarching strategy and how digital can play a role to help them achieve that high level objective. client might not necessary know how to articulate their digital demand so it is equally important for us to help them assess and articulate their business challenges and how digital can support their growth.

while educating and empowering is key, sometimes client team might not have the manpower nor the time to operate their own operation. more importantly, educating client to read the right dashboard that allows them to make an educated and informed decision, is more important.

This definitely surpasses all the other points in my opinion. It is because if the client does not trust you, it wouldn’t ever trust you with the digital strategies that you suggest for their business. So for most thing here to do is build a rapport with your client and you can do so by getting on weekly meetings, letting them into your brainstorming process and also showing examples of where these strategies have previously worked.

in order to give the best strategy service to your client, what i have found from my personal experience, the frequent i communicate with my client, the better insights i get. These insights actually helped me to serve better strategy to my clients!

Setup a regular meeting with your client. Either every week or more likely every month. Set it as a 20-30min online call at the maximum (This meeting is a performance update meeting, not a bonding session.) Set 3 main objectives that lead to your client's bottomline goals. Report on those 3 objectives every meeting. Follow up with potential challenges to hitting them, progress of tasking and projects towards the goal. A great client would want to collaboratively solve the problems with you. The issue is that employees or vendors do not flag up these issues early enough.
