My suggestion is to get rid of titles. Everyone seems to need a title after their name. Most titles are meaningless and do not actually define what one actually does.

I’ve found that younger engineers are in such a hurry (and sometimes pushed by their own managers) to start taking over management tasks that they fail master the technical skills required to design projects. This results in managers not having the technical skills necessary to competently oversee younger engineers. This condition results in poor quality work, multiple revisions, and less than optimal service to the client. Young engineers should focus on mastering the technical aspects of the work before managing ohers.
