The greatest exposure with a hydraulic press is when a part flys out of the press under pressure. If your in the line of fire for that exposure you could be seriously hurt, or killed. To prevent this from happining a plexiglass guard can be attached with access pannels to allow parts to be placed. Depending on what pressures the press is working at would be the deciding factor on how thick the guard should be. Most presses Ive seen do not have a guard. The human aspect is the most importain part of the safe operation of a hydraulic Press. If the press fails keeping the part contained is the key factor in keeping the employee from being hurt or killed.
