I find using anecdotes or some real life examples help the audience greatly in digesting the information. Depending on the audience, using simple language helps. And if you are using slides, don't make them too busy or complicated with a lot of words. You want the audience to focus on you and what you are saying, rather than trying to read what is on your slides.

It’s possible to adjust what you say during a presentation to how the audience reacts to your content. It’s much harder to adjust your slides and figures quickly. I recommend having visuals that are general/flexible and can be interesting to different types of audiences. The difference is in how you present them not in the slides.

In my experience, the below are helpful. - Start with a Compelling Hook "Did you know that India's GDP growth is closely tied to the monsoon season? Let's explore how changes in rainfall patterns affect our economy." - Tell a Story: Imagine a farmer in rural India. When global oil prices rise, it affects the cost of fuel and, consequently, the price of transportation for the farmer's produce. This, in turn, influences food prices in your local market." - Keep Jargon to a Minimum Instead of saying "Fiscal Deficit," you can explain, "When the government spends more than it earns, it's like living beyond your means, which can lead to debt and financial problems.

I'd also suggest using storytelling and real-world examples to make the content more engaging and relevant; Storytelling: Weave your research findings into a compelling narrative. People remember stories better than raw data. Start with a relatable scenario or problem and explain how your research addresses it. Many people in finance use jargon because we are immersed in it on a daily basis. We default to jargon because it is easy. However, the ability to deliver clear and effective advice starts with a comprehensive understanding of your audience. It requires effort and a deep knowledge of the subject matter, but pays immense dividends for all parties.

Keep it simple. Even if you specified seven independent variables in your model, prioritize and focus on the results for 3 to 4 of the most significant ones. In my personal experience, infographics has been very effective in turning data and numbers into insights, whenever I posted around the economy. 2 reasons:- 1) They are visually appealing and easy to understand. 2) Follows the text + photo structure, hence engagement is great for LinkedIn algorithm too :)

A (good) chart is worth a thousand words Here are some advices : 1. Thinking ahead and understanding exactly what the graph is meant to demonstrate, and who the audience of that graph is are key 2. Keeping it simple Because a graph is used to convey information, a useful graph will have structure, will express the information clearly and will thrive for simplicity 3. Consistent Persuading, not misleading. Good graphs are persuasive and tell a story.

Very simply, the less text, the more visualization and infographics. Sometimes, even charts can be hard to understand, so it's best to represent relative numbers through infographics. For example, if the data shows that 70% of women in the labor market are unemployed, then you can use an infographic to depict 10 people, with 7 being women, making it much easier to understand the data we have gathered.

Do not put anything on the page that does not absolutely have to be there. People are giving up something incredibly valuable to listen/read: their time. Make this “transaction” worth their while. Things that you think are interesting but are not essential to the purpose of the article are a distraction (unless you’ve got a very good nose for what will appeal to your audience - most people get this wrong). Don’t drown people in data. Your job is to pull out the points they need to know, not ask them to work that out for themselves. In my experience, practising with a mirror is a bad idea. You will be distracting by looking at yourself as you are speaking and moving. It is much easier to place a phone on a stand and record yourself, looking at the camera and imagining it is your friend. The aim of practice is to look and feel natural, without external pressure. It should feel like a conversation with a friend, and the ease with show, to you and to your audience.

If people aren't reading what you've written, you need to change your approach. Over the last decade, concise research has won out over beautiful flowing prose. Equally, write something once and repackage it multiple times into videos, animations, shorter blog posts, and even infographics.

One of my favorite quotes is from Don Draper (Mad Men). "If you don't like what's being said, change the conversation." I would argue that if people don't understand what is being said, there is no conversation. You can't be an effective receiver of knowledge without comprehension and you can't be an effective giver of knowledge if you don't know where people are at.
