Indeed, having a third party involved in the LMS is a major step and needs to be done with careful planning, starting with the identification of your needs/goals and the needs/goals of the third party. Would this add value to what you already have, if not just ignore it... but, if it will add value plan very carefully each step and keep the technicians available, with a step-by-step guide for all to use.
