Feedback with suppliers is a great tool, but often see this as being a one way tool in most supplier/vendor relationships. I have found the practice of setting up time to request out of key suppliers - What are we failing at or Where can we improve in this relationship? - has been a great tool to building better relationships.

Build Relationships with your suppliers! Depending on the size of your business, likely inventory management is not handled by the same group dealing directly with supplier contracts and relationships. I have found it helpful to ensure to take time to build relationships, understand their business and help them better understand yours - pays dividends in how well the teams execute work alongside one another. I like to think of them as partners versus just a supplier we purchase materials from, ultimately it will take us both to deliver the results working in conjunction with one another.
