Instead of Twitter, Facebook, Blogs, and Portfolios, I really just use LinkedIn for professional writing and connections - My profile is like a living portfolio that updates every time I post. If a potential client wants to know what I'm about and what I can offer, they can take a scroll through my profile and posts.
While online networking is convenient and accessible, nothing can replace the face-to-face interaction that offline events offer. This is a big one, especially now almost 4 years from the beginning of Covid. People are going back to in-person meetings and social events and those are always the best way to get yourself out there and in the mix. You're much more likely to stand out as a job applicant if you meet someone in person, rather than just putting a resume on top of a pile of hunreds of others.
