In my Experience, to connect with network security professionals in person, consider attending industry conferences, workshops, or local meet-ups related to cybersecurity. I understand we are living in a remote world with great remote conferencing tools but I strongly believe that face to face meeting/ interaction is a great way of networking. Engage in conversations, participate in panel discussions, and exchange contact information for future networking opportunities. Building a presence in such events can foster valuable connections within the network security community.

OWASP is the big name everyone knows, but don’t overlook the local communities in various countries. They can be surprisingly large and buzzing with activity, offering a wealth of knowledge and connections on a more relatable scale.

Coming from a background in sales and engineering, I can't stress enough how underrated yet crucial follow-ups are for building meaningful relationships.
