1 Set clear and realistic goals

Consider a regular “knees together”. We pulled our chairs in a circle to chat every morning; no barriers & felt informal. New work: describe the project, what it should accomplish, and how you will approach it. Existing work: what did you do yesterday; what could be better? Then the team would take a couple of minutes to offer input. You had to be concise; there were 4 of us and only 45 minutes. You had to be fully engaged in your work to speak to the desired outcome or identify something that could be better. Our manager participated as an equal, so we had some input on how he managed us. It resulted in a tightly bonded team who knew what each other was doing, our strengths & weaknesses, fostered mutual respect & support.

I can't stress much about collaboration, really! So far in my data journey whatever problems I have solved were not technical mostly but fundamental problems and mostly discussing with your peers helps you lot understanding your problem better and many times as a group you might come up with new approach to solve your problems

It’s forming the Magic Circle, Nelson Mandela did this with his tribe, then practice to be the last person to speak, so it gives everyone the opportunity feel like they have been heard, then you give them your opinion at the end that creates a culture of leadership. Simon Sinek gave a great analogy on this of firming a circle with your tribe ie your team .

Generally primary responsibility of data analysis teams is perceived to be studying patterns in data. But in order to reveal hidden insights industry experience is much needed. collaborating and involving wider team by daily huddles, MS team group chats etc. is extremely helpful as different people can share their perspective and understating of industry/ process

Data analysis takes focus and an unusually high attention to detail. There will be many times you need to ’see’ the invisible to get the job done. Trailing spaces, extra spaces, imported formatting data from copy & paste, formatting that differs from one source to another, punctuation that varies by language, common typos; the list is endless. Don’t be discouraged! You’re never going to catch ALL the data. Build a knowledge base that identifies the most common issues and incorporate them into your data cleansing before you even try to initiate analysis. Build on that base when you notice a trend. Always remember, data analytics provide probability, not absolute facts. There are always outliers; acknowledge, then ignore.
