I don't believe that SWOT is the right tool in this aspect. A successful preproduction means that there are no hiccups in the production period. It's that easy. No extra hours on set, no unhappy clients, no discussions between departments. More sweat on pre less blood on set :D

One thing I will always ask my clients is, "Who is someone in your space you are looking to emulate?" This gives me an idea of what they are trying to create and gives me the launch pad I need to start my research. If its social media content, I'll spend time finding the top movers and creators in that space; seeing what works for them and adding a unique twist and perspective on that. Every client/business has something that makes them unique and stands out from the competition. I believe it's my job to find it and combine it with what's already working. Then you can develop a very strong place to start planning out the shoot and a vision for what the final results could look like.
